Use Quicktion from an AI assistant (MCP)

Quicktion runs an MCP server at https://quicktion.io/mcp. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard that ChatGPT, Claude, Vercel Connect and most other assistants use to talk to outside tools. Once you connect it, you can ask the assistant to save an email into any of your destinations, list your destinations, or tell you what you saved recently. The save goes through the same pipeline as a forwarded email: your property mappings, default values and AI Processing all apply.

Connect Quicktion to your assistant

The steps are the same everywhere: add the server URL, then approve the connection on quicktion.io.

  • ChatGPT: open the plugin directory, click Add, then Add custom MCP server, and paste https://quicktion.io/mcp.
  • Claude: open Quicktion in the Claude connectors directory and click Connect. Or go to Settings, add a custom connector, and paste https://quicktion.io/mcp.
  • Vercel Connect: create a connector and point it at https://quicktion.io/mcp. Vercel discovers the OAuth settings on its own.
  • Any other MCP client: add a remote server with the same URL. Quicktion registers the client automatically, so there is no client ID to copy.

After that, the assistant sends you to a page on quicktion.io. Sign in if you need to, check what it is asking for (see your destinations, save emails, see recent saves) and click Allow. You only do this once per assistant.

Ask the assistant to save an email

Open or paste an email in the assistant and tell it where to save it, by destination name. A few prompts that work:

  • "Save this email to my Client CRM in Quicktion."
  • "File this in the Invoices sheet."
  • "Which Quicktion destinations do I have?"
  • "What did I save to Quicktion this week?"

The assistant confirms before saving and replies with a link to the Notion page, sheet row, Airtable record, Linear issue, Trello card or Drive folder it created.

If you have several destinations, name the one you mean. If you don't, the assistant asks.

What the connection can do

The server has three tools and nothing else: list your destinations (with their forwarding addresses), save one email into a destination you name, and list your latest saves. It can't create or edit destinations, change mappings, or read your inbox. All of that stays in the dashboard.

What gets saved

The subject, sender, recipients, date and body of the email, saved exactly as a forwarded email would be:

Attachments are not included yet. When an email has attachments you need, forward it or save it from the Gmail add-on instead.

Limits

Saves from an assistant count toward your monthly limit like any other save. When you hit the limit, the assistant tells you and nothing is saved; see plans and pricing for the numbers.

Disconnect an assistant

Go to Settings → Connected apps in your Quicktion dashboard and click Disconnect next to the assistant. New saves stop immediately. Emails that were already saved stay where they are.

For the forwarding and add-on ways of saving, see set up email forwarding and install the Gmail add-on.
