Emails Not Arriving in Notion

If you forwarded an email to your Quicktion address but it hasn't appeared in your Notion database, work through the steps below to find the issue.

Check the Email Log

The email log in your Quicktion dashboard shows the status of every email Quicktion has processed. Sign in at quicktion.io and look for the email in question.

  • If the email appears with a success status -- it was saved to Notion. Check your Notion database directly. It may be in a filtered view or sorted in a way that hides it.
  • If the email appears with an error -- read the error message. The most common errors are covered below (expired token, database not found, etc.).
  • If the email doesn't appear at all -- Quicktion never received it. The problem is on the email side, not the Notion side. Keep reading.

Verify the Destination Is Active

Open your Quicktion dashboard and check that the destination you're forwarding to still exists and is active. If you deleted the destination, emails sent to that address will be silently dropped.

Check the Forwarding Address

Make sure you're forwarding to the exact address shown in your Quicktion dashboard (e.g., abc123@in.quicktion.io). Even a small typo will prevent delivery. Copy the address directly from the dashboard rather than typing it manually.

Check Your Spam or Junk Folder

Some email providers filter forwarded copies into spam or junk. If your email provider flagged the forwarded message, it may never have left your inbox. Check your spam/junk folder and mark the Quicktion address as safe if needed.

Verify Auto-Forwarding Rules

If you set up automatic forwarding rules in Gmail, Outlook, or another email client, confirm they're still active. Rules can be disabled by your email provider after account changes, password resets, or security reviews.

  • Gmail -- Go to Settings > Filters and Blocked Addresses and check that your forwarding filter is still listed and enabled.
  • Outlook -- Go to Settings > Mail > Rules and verify your rule is active.

Reconnect Notion

Notion tokens can expire or be revoked. When this happens, Quicktion can't write to your database and emails will fail with an "Unauthorized" or "Access denied" error in the email log.

To fix this:

  1. Go to your Quicktion dashboard.
  2. Delete the existing Notion integration.
  3. Click Connect Notion and authorize Quicktion again.
  4. Update your destination to use the new integration if needed.

For more details, see Notion Connection Issues.

Check Database Permissions

Even if your Notion token is valid, Quicktion can only write to databases that are shared with its integration. If you or a teammate removed Quicktion's access to the database in Notion, emails will fail with a "Database not found" or "Page not found" error.

To fix this:

  1. Open the target database in Notion.
  2. Click ... (menu) in the top-right corner, then go to Connections.
  3. Make sure Quicktion is listed. If it's not, add it.

Alternatively, disconnect and reconnect Notion from the Quicktion dashboard to re-select which pages to share.

Still Stuck?

If none of the above resolved the issue, contact us at support@quicktion.io with the forwarding address you're using and any error messages from the email log. We'll look into it.
