Notion Connection Issues
If Quicktion can't communicate with your Notion workspace, emails will fail to save. Below are the most common connection errors and how to resolve them.
"Access Denied" or "Unauthorized"
This means your Notion token has expired or been revoked. Notion tokens don't last forever -- they can expire on their own, or be invalidated if you change your Notion account settings or remove the Quicktion connection from within Notion.
How to fix it
- Go to your Quicktion dashboard at quicktion.io.
- Delete the existing Notion integration.
- Click Connect Notion to start a fresh authorization.
- Select the correct workspace and share the databases you need.
- Update your destinations to use the new integration if prompted.
"Page Not Found" or "Database Not Found"
Quicktion can only access databases that are explicitly shared with it. This error means one of two things:
- The database was unshared. Someone removed Quicktion's access to the database in Notion's connection settings.
- The database was deleted or moved. The database no longer exists, or it was moved to a location Quicktion doesn't have access to.
How to fix it
- Open the target database in Notion.
- Click ... (menu) in the top-right corner, then go to Connections.
- Check that Quicktion is listed. If it's missing, add it back.
- If the database was deleted, restore it from Notion's trash or create a new one and update your destination in Quicktion.
If you originally restricted Quicktion's access to specific pages during authorization, you may need to disconnect and reconnect to expand access. See the reconnection steps above.
"Could Not Connect" During Setup
If the Notion authorization screen won't open or fails to complete, try the following:
Check pop-up blockers
The Notion authorization opens in a new window. If your browser blocks pop-ups for quicktion.io, the window won't appear. Allow pop-ups for quicktion.io and try again.
Try a different browser
Some browser extensions (especially ad blockers or privacy tools) can interfere with OAuth flows. Try connecting in an incognito/private window or a different browser.
Confirm your Notion account
Make sure you're logged into the correct Notion account in your browser before clicking Connect Notion. If you have multiple Notion accounts, the authorization screen will connect whichever account is currently active in your browser session.
How to Reconnect Notion
If you need to start fresh with your Notion connection:
- Go to your Quicktion dashboard.
- Find your Notion integration and delete it.
- Click Connect Notion.
- Authorize Quicktion in the Notion window that opens, selecting the correct workspace and databases.
- Your existing destinations will need to be updated to use the new integration.
This gives Quicktion a new token and a fresh set of permissions. It's the most reliable way to resolve persistent connection issues.
