Airtable Connection Issues
If you're having trouble connecting your Airtable account to Quicktion or saving emails to Airtable, this guide covers the most common issues and how to fix them.
Authorization Fails or Times Out
Symptoms
- The Airtable authorization window opens but fails to complete.
- You see an error message after clicking "Grant access."
- The window closes but no integration appears in Quicktion.
Solutions
- Check pop-up blockers. Make sure your browser allows pop-ups from quicktion.io. Some ad blockers also interfere with OAuth windows.
- Try a different browser. If you're using a browser with strict privacy settings, try Chrome or Firefox with default settings.
- Clear cookies for Airtable. If you're logged into multiple Airtable accounts, the authorization may fail. Clear Airtable cookies and log in to the correct account before connecting.
- Disconnect and reconnect. In the Quicktion dashboard, delete the failed integration and try connecting again.
Base or Table Not Appearing
Symptoms
- Your Airtable base doesn't appear in the base selection dropdown.
- The table you want isn't listed after selecting a base.
Solutions
- Check base access during authorization. When you authorized Quicktion, you chose which bases to share. If you didn't include the base you need, disconnect the integration and reconnect, selecting the correct bases.
- Verify your permissions. You need at least Editor access to the base. If you're a Commenter or Read-only collaborator, you won't be able to create records.
- Check if the base is in the correct workspace. If you belong to multiple Airtable workspaces, make sure you're connecting from the workspace that contains your target base.
Emails Not Saving to Airtable
Symptoms
- You forwarded an email but no record appeared in Airtable.
- The activity log in Quicktion shows an error.
Solutions
- Check the activity log. Go to your Quicktion dashboard and look at the activity feed. It will show the status of each email and any error messages.
- Verify the forwarding address. Make sure you forwarded to the correct destination address. Even a small typo will prevent delivery.
- Check your Airtable token. If your Airtable authorization has expired or been revoked, Quicktion won't be able to create records. Disconnect and reconnect your Airtable integration.
- Check field compatibility. If a mapped field type has changed in Airtable (e.g., you changed a text field to a number field), the save may fail. Update your field mappings in destination settings.
Token Expired or Revoked
Symptoms
- Emails that were saving successfully suddenly stop working.
- You see "Unauthorized" or "Token expired" errors in the activity log.
Solutions
- Reconnect your Airtable account. Go to the Quicktion dashboard, delete the Airtable integration, and click Connect Airtable to authorize again.
- Check Airtable's connected apps. In Airtable, go to your account settings and check the "Connected apps" section. Make sure Quicktion is listed and hasn't been revoked.
Field Mapping Errors
Symptoms
- Some fields save correctly but others are empty or show errors.
- You changed your Airtable table structure and saves started failing.
Solutions
- Refresh field mappings. In your destination settings, Quicktion reads the current table schema. If you've added or changed fields in Airtable, refresh the mappings to pick up the changes.
- Check field type compatibility. Not every email field works with every Airtable field type. For example, the email body can't be saved to a single line text field (use long text or rich text instead). See configure property mappings for compatibility details.
